Trans Art Is
Submit photographs, paintings, prints, drawings, soundtracks, live performances, poetry, spoken word scripts, jewelry, comics, videos, sculptures, fashion designs, zines, and more, for inclusion in the Chicago Therapy Collective’s Trans Art Is opening showcase.
This first exhibit in a rotating Trans Art Is exhibition serves as an introduction. While there is no set theme for August, we encourage artists to embrace the spirit of introductions and submit current artwork that clearly highlights something key about themselves and/or their artwork. An artist statement and bio are required for submission. Details about each submission, title, description, size, material and price are asked for each piece. Artists can choose to sell, loan, donate, do some combination of sell/loan/donate, or simply display their artwork. Please note that the Galleria charges the Trans Art Is project 20% commission on all sales, while the project collects 10% in order to support the life of the project.
Submissions for August’s showcase must be entered by Wednesday August 1st. Artists will be required to deliver and collect their work in person to and from the gallery. If selected, artwork must be delivered during a pre-set time slot. Artists will be able to drop off their work as early as Friday August 3rd. If delivering the work in person is an accessibility issue, please note that in the accessibility section of the form below and we’ll do our best to make accommodations.
All types of artwork are welcome, though artists are responsible for ensuring necessary materials and skills are available for the installation. While allies are invited to support the Trans Art Is project, the showcase specifically calls for artwork made by trans/gnc artists.
